XRYSALIS
XRYSALIS was founded in response to the deeply intersectional injustices and trauma facing the Queer, Transgender, and Intersex People of Color (QTIPoC) community. We believe that a FOR-US-BY-US Collective Model is the key to our collective healing. We effect meaningful change by cultivating the collective wellbeing of individual members within our community first. We do this by providing free and open space for members to cultivate a practice of self-love and resilience. We call this Transformative Intersectional Empowerment.
By creating a platform - both through an online portal and our innovative programing, XRYSALIS activates individuals who are passionate about building community, supporting others, and healing for the collective liberation of our communities

Creating spaces for QTIPoC Communites collectively in Art, Culture and Community
XRYSALIS knows that we are the curators and catalyst for cultural change and exchange. We are some of the most resilient and innovative people on the planet. We are behind every successful piece of art ever created yet we are the least resourced demographic in the country. Making space in order to nurture our talents, share our gifts, and perfects our abilities is essential for the betterment of our community.

Healing generations of our individual and collective trauma
No group on the planet has endured more trauma collectively then LGBTQ people of color in the United States and around the world. In places like San Francisco and Oakland that impact is magnified by the tech juggernaut which has brought with it an unstable bubble which has expanded to the point of no return.
This expansion has forced some of our most vulnerable populations to the edges of extinction. The constant trauma of instability has weakened the body, mind and spirit of the QTIPoC Community. XRYSALIS understands that an individual who operates from a place of trauma is more likely to engage in behaviors that will potentially lead to life altering consequences versus an individual who operates from a place of thriving.
It is XRYSALIS priority to be an agent of awakening for our communities. This means providing one of a kind tools and guidance that is intersectional and transformative.

Restoring our connection to land and nature
XRYSALIS believes in the restoration of our connection to the earth and self-sustainability. Using an Ecofeminists framework XRYSALIS provides programming and environments that connects local environments and the land beyond the city lights creating a pathway of cross cultural exchange with continuous engagement with diverse terrains
We have been isolated from the healing properties that only mother nature can provide. Studies show that this disconnection plays a role in the increased anxiety, depression, and stress that our communities face. XRYSALIS is rebuilding the lost connection by creating sustainable pathways between cultural hubs in cities and healing rural environmental spaces. But this is just the beginning. Not only does XRYSALIS want to restore our deteriorating relationship to the environment, we also want to sustain the activation once people are back away from the healing powers of XRYSALIS and back to their daily lives.
